As a part of regular activity of the Working Committee, visited 6 factories in the Savar Tannery Industrial Estate to observe the progress of NPA implementation. They visited the Khokon Tannery, Ayub Brothers, Marson Tannery, R K Leather and Bengal Pelli. During the visit they discussed the social compliance issues of the tannery industry and requested them to implement these issues within the time frame. The WC members met with factory owners and Management and discussed the importance of the implementation of the National Plan of Action. Dr. Nazmun Nahar, Assistant Inspector General of Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishment (DIFE), Rehana Akter Ruma, Member of the WC and Head of Program & Projects of Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA), Abul Kalam Azad, President of Tannery Workers Union, Abdul Maleque, General Secretary Tannery Workers Union, Md. Sajjad Hossain, Assistant Engineer of BSCIC and Mahmudul Hasan Khan, Deputy Director Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) were present in this event as the members of WC.
